Chapter 4: Differentiation of functions of two variables

In Chapter 2 we have seen that changes play an important role in economics. For functions of one variable these changes are calculated by the use of the derivative. For functions of two variables we use the partial derivatives. In particular for optimization of functions of two variables in Chapter 5 these partial derivatives are crucial.
